Health and Safety Policy
Our managers will:
- Resource and plan policy implementation.
- Monitor, measure and review performance targets and
achievements so that we can learn from past experience, correct
deficiencies, and ensure continuous improvement;
- Be prepared to take appropriate action against any individual
or contractor who contravenes the Company’s safety rules and
standards; and
- Ensure through appropriate coaching and training, that all
employees are competent to undertake their duties without causing
injury of ill health to themselves or others or damage to property,
plant and equipment.
Aggregate Industries firmly believes that the management of
health and safety is the responsibility of all employees but must
be led by line management. Accordingly, we will require all
operational managers to:
- Comply, as a minimum level of performance, with all health and
safety legislation, regulations and codes of practice that are
relevant to the business activity.
- Assess in advance, the health and safety risk implications of
any plant, processes, procedures, substances and equipment in order
to implement safe systems of work.
- Prevent any employee or contractor from undertaking a task
unless it can be completed safely.
To demonstrate our commitment to continuously improving our
health and safety performance, we will report on our progress
annually.
