Charcon Reinforced Paving Range is Ultra Safe and Stylish
Featuring the only aesthetic reinforced paving currently
available, Charcon’s new reinforced paving brochure provides local
authorities and designers with a choice of options for any
environment.
Steel reinforced British
Standard paving, providing increasing flag strength and product
integrity in case of damage, has been a key part of Charcon’s
product range for some time. Recognising the need for paving
reinforcement in a variety of different situations and
environments, Charcon has used its experience to develop and
enhance its Ultrapave Flag Paving range still further to
offer a wider number of choices, including both aesthetic and
functional options.
Now offering two main reinforcement options and both aesthetic
and functional designs, Charcon is best placed to supply reinforced
paving solutions to blend with most environments.
Developed in conjunction with local authorities and specifiers
especially as a cost-effective alternative to granite in cities and
town centres, Charcon’s unique textured steel-reinforced paving is
the only aesthetic reinforced paving in the market. Available in
Silver Grey and Dark Grey, the textured range has already been
supplied to Nottingham,
Liverpool and the London Borough of Westminster.
As an alternative, Charcon also offers steel-reinforced paving
in a standard pimple finish for locations where a complementary
traditional or aesthetic finish is not required. With a concealed
bright steel mesh reinforcement to strengthen the paving and retain
the fragments in case of damage, this product is already used
extensively by many London Boroughs.
Another new addition to Charcon’s range contains specially
developed fibres to provide additional strength and product
integrity. Charcon’s fibre reinforced range offers a much lighter
reinforced paving option with enhanced strength characteristics to
mitigate the effects of crack propagation from the base to the top
of the flag. The fibres in the paving act to tightly hold broken
segments of the flag together in the event of vehicular damage,
minimising movement and potential risk of trip hazards while
maintaining the aesthetic appearance of the paving.
Ideal for urban pavements, footway crossings, shopping precincts
and areas subject to occasional vehicle overrun, Charcon’s
Ultrapave Flag Paving range is manufactured and
tested generally in accordance with BS 7263:2001 Part 1 and BS EN
1339:2003.
