Design considerations

Mechanical lay

For a skilled mechanical laying team, rates of around 800-900m2 or more laid in a day are not uncommon.

Please see Europa for product information.

Site preparation

Mechanical laying is ideally suited to large installation areas with no obstructions such as kerbs, manholes or drainage.
The site must be well planned in terms of logistics. The volume of materials being laid requires large quantities of sand to be delivered in front of the area being laid, with the paving blocks being delivered from behind. The site should be kept relatively free from obstruction.

Given the logistical needs of mechanical laying, clients are invited to contact the Technical Helpline for advice.
