Infilta: innovation by Charcon...
Charcon Infilta is a rectangular block paving system,
incorporating a 5mm spacer design.
Each interlocking unit with its specially designed nib structure,
provides a 5mm void, allowing ingress of surface water through to
the storage system below.
Available in a range of colours, Charcon’s Infilta block paving
offers all the strength and performance properties of Charcon’s
established range, with the added environmental benefit of
sustainable drainage.
Infilta block paving can be used in conjunction with Charcon
Permavoid or Bardon granular sub base.

Infilta products comply with the performance levels in European

Composition and manufacture
Infilta blocks are manufactured from high quality aggregate and
binders using a semi-dry pressing method.
Performance
Skid resistance
Concrete paving blocks have satisfactory slip/skid resistance in
accordance with BS EN 1338.

Installation guidelines
Preparation
Sub-grade:
- Clear top-soil: complete sub-grade drainage.
- Excavate and back-fill soft spots: compact well
throughout.
- Protect sub-grade from adverse weather.
- Lay geotextile fabric or capping layer (if
specified/required).
Sub-base:
- Prepare in accordance with Specification for Highway
Works.
- Lay and compact in layers to a close-textured finish.
- Open-textured sub-bases may require a binding layer of finer
material.
