minimises raw materials to produce products with excellent "green"
credentials.
Solution through manufacturing innovation
The factory which manufactures the Charcon Eco Range of flag and
kerb products is a flagship operation within the Charcon business,
with advanced equipment to meet high environmental standards
The Eco Range manufacturing processes have been tailored to
utilise efficient practices:
Batching plant: The plant is metered and is
monitored to avoid wasted energy. This included an automatic
cut-out system to switch off the plant when not in use.
Product presses: The press has been converted
so 50% of the hydraulic system operates on air, using less oil.
Recycling: The production machinery recycles
hydraulic oil for cleansing the press heads and mould boxes
Noise: All air valves have been fitted with
silencers to reduce noise to acceptable levels.
