All EcoPave block paving units are palletised
and shrink-wrapped using recycled materials.
Design considerations
Complementary products
The Eco Range – block, kerb and paving is designed as an
integrated system. The products are also fully compatible with
other Charcon flag and block ranges, especially Appalachian.
Standards
EcoPave block paving products comply with the performance levels
in European Standard BS EN 1338.
Composition and manufacture
The product mixes for Charcon’s Eco Range seek to utilise the
most sustainable resources. The following materials have been
selected to maximise resource productivity:
Copper slag
This is a by-product from copper smelting. It is used to create
the decorative finish of the product instead of virgin aggregate
material.
China clay stent
A by-product of the china clay industry used as an aggregate
instead of quarrying virgin materials.
Water
Water used in the manufacturing process is recycled.
Performance
Skid resistance
Concrete paving blocks have satisfactory slip/skid resistance in
accordance with BS EN 1338. For full details of slip resistance,

Strength
EcoPave block paving meets the requirements of BS EN 1338.
